Fichu of natural-colored needle lace: Burano lace. Triangular model. The triangular central field features scattered branches with rosebuds and is enclosed by a pearl border. Around the central field runs a wide border with a zigzag pattern of a leaf garland. This garland forms, from the sharp corners towards the central field, a diamond shape and two pentagons increasing in size. Twisted festoon stitches form the square mesh ground in the central field; the wide border is worked separately with radially directed mesh turns. The motifs are made with festoon stitches and two types of open decorative stitches. The relief contours are filled and festooned. Finished on all sides with a richly decorated edge of bows and leaves.
