About this work

Ribbed dish of soft-paste porcelain (pâte tendre), painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, black and gold. On the front two quails among flowering plants and two flying butterflies. The inner rim with a band of flower scrolls. Marked on the underside with an N. Ribbed foot ring. The dish is in the style of Japanese Kakiemon porcelain.
