About this work

Dish of soft-paste porcelain (pâte tendré) with a ribbed wall and scalloped rim, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, black and gold. On the flat two quails and a butterfly among flowering plants. The inner rim with a band of floral scrolls. The dish is in the style of Japanese Kakiemon porcelain.
