About this work
Strip of natural-colored needle lace, point de France. Repetitive motif with whimsical sparse scrolls to which here and there various corded C-shapes and some corded circles are attached. Hexagonal ground with picoted bars. Solid work with cutouts and largely without relief, except on the cords. Shell border on the lower side with alternating a bow edged with picoted arches and a triangle built up from small corded circles. The upper side is edged with a straight needle lace border with crosses.
