About this work

Collar of natural-colored bobbin lace - Mechlin lace - with a narrow strip of machine-made Valenciennes lace along the inner edge. On the seam between the two strips of lace a row of appliqué is sewn of alternating an embroidered oval flower and an embroidered leaf. Semi-circular model. The wide strip of Mechlin lace has a scallop edge under a scattered pattern of berry sprigs, with a hanging flower on a diagonal branch in each scallop.
