Strip of needle lace with hanging bells between C-scrolls

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Brussels mesh lace. The repeating and largely symmetrical pattern consists of a hanging bell set between lying C-scrolls. Below the bell hang three rosette flowers. Below the C-scrolls hang feathered leaves. In the field above the C-scrolls springs an asymmetrical bouquet with a rose. The motifs are built up from festoon stitches and are accentuated by relief contours. Decorative stitches have been applied in the bell and C-scrolls. The motifs are connected to each other by a mesh ground, a mesh lace ground sown with knots. The top side is finished straight with a bobbin lace band. The scalloped edge comes from the pattern with the hanging rosette flowers and feathered leaves and is finished with picots.
