About this work

Cuff of natural-colored bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. Lightly curved rectangular model with scalloped edge along three sides. The cuff consists of four short strips connected vertically with narrow inserts of cotton. Along the sides and bottom runs a double border made of two strips, also connected by a narrow cotton insert. The inner strip is an insert, the outer strip has a scalloped edge and is pleated around the two lower corners. Motifs consist of loose or linked oval flowers with simple leaves on stems. The motifs are connected by a lattice ground, a square Valenciennes ground. The scalloped edge is finished with picots.
