Plaque of gilded bronze depicting Pallas Athena

Plaque of gilded bronze. Depicted: Pallas Athene introduces Painting into the circle of the Muses. Based on a design by Hans von Aachen. Note: the still unknown maker of the plaque must probably be sought at the court of Rudolf II in Prague. A silver example is in a private collection in Amsterdam. Furthermore, a number of lead examples are known. Condition: very accurately and sharply cast.
