About this work
Round lead plaque, surrounded by a braided border. On the right, Venus with Amor at her feet. Paris offers her the apple with the inscription "for the fairest," which would become the prelude to the Trojan War. On the left, Minerva, seen from the back at three-quarters, leaning on her spear in her right hand. In front of her sits Juno, looking up at her. On the far left, a small dog. Behind the figures, on both sides and in the center, heavy trees. Above, a wide body of water on the horizon with the radiant face of the sun. On the right in the background, ships, buildings, and the walled city of Troy before high mountain peaks.
