Beaker with lid with six enamelled shields

The round object consists of a goblet, which with the base in the foot is hammered from one tombac sheet, and a lid. Under the foot base, a profiled raised rim hammered from tombac is mounted with two bolts. On the goblet and lid, six enamelled silver shields are soldered respectively. The goblet is signed at the bottom in the foot: G. H. LANTMAN / ME / FECIT / 1911. On the inside of the lid the label with the printed text 'pour l'exposition a paris 1925 section néerlandaise' and in ink 'VIII 489'. The goblet is built up from a foot, a stem and a bowl, which flow into each other. The transition from the stem to the bowl has a chased stylised ornament, formed by a motif repeated twelve times, with at the top a three-part leaf. On the wall of the bowl six silver shields are soldered with a vegetative decoration in enamel executed in cloisonné technique, consisting of a flower cup placed on stems and two buds as well as two leaves against a white, blue or reddish-brown background.
