About this work

The service consists of a teapot, a milk jug, and a sugar bowl. These are all rounded rectangular. They rest on a straight-sided base with bracket-shaped arched sides. Rising above this is an arched, tapering foot that supports the globular arched body. The foot and body are separated by a profiled border. The body is decorated at the corners with broad lobes. In the top of the teapot body is a large opening into which the square, arched, tapering lid fits. This is crowned by a knob in the form of a flowering branch. The lid rim is built from leaf scrolls. The S-shaped curved spout is decorated with wrapped leaves. The fittings of the C-shaped high-arched ebony handle are decorated with acanthus leaves and scrolls. Above the milk jug body rises a slightly pinched neck that transitions into the wide spout with a rim built from leaf scrolls, interrupted at the front.
