About this work

Ladies' shoe of black satin with ankle strap. Model: Rounded pointed toe, one vamp and two side panels. The cutout of the vamp extends to halfway up the instep. The side panels begin halfway up the instep. The side panels rise to a rounded corner at the top of the instep. An ankle strap is attached to the left side panel. On the right side panel, a black plastic button with a metallic center is attached via a metal eyelet. The front of the heel slopes straight down to a rounded corner. The side and back of the narrow heel are waisted and covered in black satin. Leather back piece nailed to the heel with five nails and leather sole. Side panels lined with cream-colored ribbed cotton. Vamp lined with cream-colored cotton. Insole made of cream-colored ribbed cotton. Decoration: suede strap with silver cord around the edge of the strap, probably intended to be placed just left of the center of the toe cutout. Edge and instep band trimmed with black ribbon.
