Strip of bobbin lace with blossom branches under a wide band of mosses

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. Under a wide band with a scattered pattern of oval buttonholes the repeating pattern consists of a flowering branch, with three small rosette flowers and leaves bending downwards attached to it. Between the successive branches stands a loose rosette flower. Along the underside of the strip stands a row of closely placed hanging twigs with always one rosette flower at the bottom. The motifs are connected by a fine mesh ground, a tulle ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with cutouts and thicker and shiny contour threads. A contour thread also runs around the buttonholes. Sparing decorative ground is applied in the veins of the leaves, in the loose rosette flowers and around the flower hearts. Top and bottom edges are finished straight, the underside provided with picots.
