About this work
Neckband of natural-coloured needle lace: flat Venetian lace or point de France. On a coarse hexagonal mesh ground, a symmetrical decoration relative to two crossing axes. In the center stands a large rhombus, halved on the left and right outer sides. They are connected by a smaller rhombus containing an equilateral cross. The large rhombuses display four unreadable monograms formed of C-scrolls (?). The intervening field is filled with spiral vines with small flowers and buds. On three sides, a straight line with dots, alternating large and small.
