About this work

Neckband of natural-coloured needle lace: flat Venetian lace or point de France. On a coarse hexagonal mesh ground, a decoration of five symmetrical and very open candelabra motifs, connected by branched spiral vines bearing miniature palmette flowers and buds. Finished on three sides with alternating large and small triangular arches.
