About this work

Carpet with diagonal stripes, Karabagh or Dagestan. Central field: filled with a pattern of diagonal stripes in dark blue and yellow, filled with fine cross-flowers. Border: fourfold. The widest border is white with stacked calyxes in red, green, dark brown, ochre, blue, purple and light yellow. Outside this, two crenellated borders in brown/blue and red/green. The inner border is red with white rosettes and green S-scrolls.
