About this work
Medallion carpet, Kazak. Central field: bright red ground with a double yellow mihrab with white border. Inner decoration of soft green panels, on which X- and T-hooks. Borders: threefold; all equally wide. The middle one is gold yellow, on which octagons stand in light green, red, ultramarine and white, within which stars. The inner and outer borders are equal and show an ultramarine blue ground.
