Medallion carpet, KAZAK

Medallion rug, Kazak. Central field: pale red ground with two touching star medallions in light green and blue, with white outlines and filling of standing rectangles with long stems and flower buds. Field filling including many small four-footed animals and birds. Borders: triple. The middle and widest is white with blocks with doubled hooks on both sides. Inner border of blue and black crenellations. Outer border light yellow with the starflower or, characteristic for Kazak, "crab" motif.
