About this work

Baby's smock of linen batiste, decorated with English embroidery, white and openwork, trimmed with Valenciennes lace. Model: short bodice with openwork seam connected to the skirt. Straight bodice with button closure at the back. Straight skirt gathered into pleats and open at the back. Shoulder straps of white ribbon; can be tied higher or lower. Decoration: embroidery of knotted flower sprigs as motifs for bows. Slits for a row of ribbon. Trimmed at the top with a narrow strip of Valenciennes lace.
