About this work
Strip of green silk lined with red on which a decoration is sewn of bobbin lace in silver and gold. The continuous pattern consists of large flowers and leaves. Within contour lines of three threads placed against each other, decorative grounds and motifs are applied in form stitch. Work is done with lamé gold thread and silver thread and with filé yarn, in different thicknesses. Hanging on the strip is a label from the art trade: 'French & Co, Inc.', where the strip was purchased.
