About this work
Christening gown of batiste with embroidery and a border of natural-coloured machine-made lace. The gown is rectangular and has a wavy, open hem towards the inside in the batiste. The lace pattern has hanging roses in the scallops. The embroidery has a pattern of a diamond-shaped centre and a border of flower branches, connected by a garland whose waves are opposite and run over the hem waves. Loose leaves and rows of mosses stand along the hem waves. A cream-coloured lining has been set behind the batiste.
