About this work
Bridal shoe of cream satin. Flat model with ankle straps. Forepart with a truncated toe. Back part closed, made in one piece. Opening finished with a small slit and drawstring. Flat heelless sole, without left/right distinction, cinched in the middle and round heel. Thin white silk ribbons to wind crosswise around the lower leg. From the front, a very small bow of white satin ribbon. Worn in 1835 by Baroness H.A.F. van Slingelandt (see map).
