About this work
Bridal shoe of cream satin. Flat model with ankle straps. Front with truncated toe. Back closed, made in one piece. Opening finished with a small slit and drawstring. Flat heelless sole, without left/right distinction, cinched in the middle and with a round heel. Thin white silk ribbons to be wound crosswise around the lower leg. A tiny bow of white satin ribbon at the front. Worn in 1835 by Baroness H.A.F. van Slingelandt (see map).
