About this work

Bag of ivory-colored satin, on which branches embroidered in silver thread, of which a blue leaf forms the flower and the leaves are filled with green floss silk. The bag can be drawn closed with a silk ribbon at the top edge. On the back is embroidered: a pink bow to which a round medallion with a double border, of which the inner circle is connected silver leaves, inside a bouquet of flowers. The reinforced standing compartment on the front of the bag is decorated in a similar way, with the difference that the outer circle is of connected leaves, within which the circle in green floss silk and two flowers. The compartment is not sewn on the satin fabric of the bag, but between it, causing a pleating. The edges are trimmed with silver thread, a narrow band of silver, which are woven into a lace strip. At the bottom of the compartment is an opening, where a set of pink satin cushions can be pulled out.
