About this work
Gilded shoe buckle of copper(?), with shell and illuminated relief. Rococo. Rectangular and curved model, rounded corners. Smooth and thickened underneath for the pin. Under the buckle: a single, U-shaped steel eye with two sharp points and an accule-shaped sawn part at the pin, which is blindly attached to the decorative border. Loose, hinged fork-shaped tongue (or point?) with sharp points. England or France? The shoe fastens on the instep with two overlapping leather flaps, the other through the upper edge. Forms a pair with BK-1978-407-B.
