About this work

Silver opera glass with bone or ivory handle and screw cap, in a brown leather case. Round lenses connected by an accordion leather, stored flat against each other, separated by turning two metal rods. Address (in elegant script on the nose bridge): E. Petitpierre opticien du Roi à Berlin. Silver marks: tête de bière, hare's head, (France, control mark after 1888), and a difficult master's mark also indicating France.
