Strip of bobbin lace with lobed scallops formed by a winding ribbon

Strip of natural-coloured Genoese bobbin lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern is formed by a winding ribbon that forms lobed oval shells. In each shell a winding ribbon forms the outlines of a circle that at the bottom turns into a three-lobed leaf. The motifs are connected to each other by, among other things, long horizontal braids, braids that form circles and by buttonhole stitches. In each circle the buttonhole stitches create a four-pointed star. The upper side of the strip is finished straight.
