Strip of bobbin lace with a branch of starflowers and a thick branch with side branches

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace: Lille lace. Between scattered moesjes the repeating pattern consists of two different sparse twigs, which spring from the underside of the strip. On one twig are some star-shaped flowers, the other twig has a thick base with thin short twigs on both sides. The motifs are connected to each other by a fine lattice ground, a tulle ground. And they are made in linen stitch, where the thicker and shiny contour threads predominate. The thicker twig is filled with stacked blocks, made in buttonhole stitch. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, with the underside provided with picots.
