About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists of linked ovals along the lower edge. Above the ovals a fine diamond mesh ground, the tulle ground, is applied. The ovals are made in linen stitch, with thicker and shiny threads. The upper edge is finished straight. The ovals form shells along the lower edge, finished with picots.
