About this work

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Paris lace. The repeating pattern consists alternately of a small loose twig and a larger twig. Both hang downwards, where the oval flower on the larger twig touches the underside of the strip. The motifs are connected to each other by a mesh ground, the Paris ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with thicker and shiny contour threads. The upper side is finished straight. The very slightly scalloped underside is provided with picots.
