About this work
Collar (half) of natural-coloured batiste with lace embroidery: English embroidery. The other half is BK-1978-714-B. Rectangular model with rounded corners and slightly hollow upper side. The pattern consists of a row of connected hexagons made with openwork circles, with an openwork daisy in each hexagon. The scalloped border follows the pattern of the hexagons and is finished along three sides with a gathered applied strip of machine lace: machine Valenciennes lace. The embroidery was made around 1870, the collar around 1910.
