Cloth of linen with at the bottom a border of natural-coloured bobbin lace: old Flemish bobbin lace. Lace: the pattern consists of a jumble of stylised small flowers and short tendrils with buds (a kind of spiders or snowflakes), which are connected to each other by an irregular plaited ground. The strip of lace is gathered onto the cloth and is finished straight at the bottom with picots. Top left the linen is marked with the letters SS, made with cross stitches in soft yellow silk.
