Rectangular Kashmir shawl of printed wool with an all-over pattern against a white field and a coloured border

Rectangular Kashmir shawl of printed wool with a full pattern against a white field and a coloured border. The central pattern consists of a solid white central rectangle with rectangular border. This has inward aubergine-coloured niches, alternated with red rosettes. Inside runs an airy border of fine, light-green botas, alternated by fine twig- and flowerwork. The border pattern has at both ends very broad borders with a running pattern of straight-outlined, tapering staff, with an open volute. Between these stand pairs of turned palm motifs in wine-red, together under a pointed arch. Fine, light-coloured fillings of twigs and flowers in pink, soft-yellow, light-green and light-blue. In the inner border a fairly broad band with diamonds in pointed ovals, in red, filled with the fine twig- and flowerwork. All around runs a narrow border of gates with flat, elongated arches between narrower pointed arches.
