Shawl of silk and wool with a natural-colored center and borders of paisley motifs in red, blue, yellow and green

Shawl, pashmina, of silk and wool with a natural-coloured field and borders of butas in red, blue, yellow and green. The borders are separately woven and sewn on. Model: oblong with a wide decorated border at the short ends and narrow borders along the long sides. Plain centre or field. Technique: the characteristic of the weaving of the ornament in the cashmere shawl was that at the transition from one colour to another the threads were wrapped around each other and furthermore at the next weft the threads at the change of colours were again wrapped around each other or doubly connected. In this 'double connection' small loops formed on the back of the fabric; these rows of loops are typical for cashmere fabrics.
