Strip of bobbin lace with 'little tree' between oval peony motif

Strip of natural-coloured Dutch bobbin lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of a stylized oval peony between two smaller and rounder peonies, which originate from the side of the flower with an S-shaped leaf. Between the successive peony motifs stands a 'little tree'. The motifs are worked in linen stitch with cut-outs and openwork edges. They are connected by a trellis ground, a Paris ground. The top and bottom sides are finished straight, with picots on one side.
