Strip of bobbin lace with a pot or bowl with a pine cone

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Parisian lace. The repeating and symmetrical pattern consists of a pot or bowl on a low foot, in which a large pine cone or drop-shaped motif stands. The edges of the pots are decorated with some flowers, poppy heads and leaves. The successive pots are connected by a rosette. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, a Parisian ground. The needlework is largely made in linen stitch with few cut-outs and with thicker contour threads. The center of the pine cone is partly made in net stitch. Various ornament grounds are applied including a snowflake ground. The top and bottom of the strip are finished with separately bobbin-made bands. The short sides are finished with a hem.
