Strip of bobbin lace with carnations in a flowerpot and V-shaped little bouquet

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Parisian pot lace. The repeating pattern consists of a simply designed flower pot with small ears, containing a symmetrical bouquet. The flowers in the bouquet increase in size from the top, ending on both sides of the pot with a large overhanging carnation. Between the successive flower pots, along the top edge, stands a V-shaped small bouquet, with directly below it a loose rosette flower. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, the Parisian ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with thicker and shiny contour threads. Various decorative grounds are applied, including in the flower pot, the flower hearts, and between the flowers. The top edge is finished with a separately bobbin-edged band; the pattern runs partly into it, suggesting the top edge was once damaged and a new band was attached. The bottom edge is finished straight and provided with picots.
