Strip of bobbin lace with diamond-shaped fields and candelabra motifs

Strip of natural bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating and sparse pattern consists of diamond-shaped fields, formed by feathered leaves and connected on the center line by a symmetrical candelabra motif. A narrower candelabra motif stands inside the diamond-shaped field. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and in net stitch. They are connected by a lattice ground, a five-hole ground. Some snowflakes are used as part of the motifs. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, with the lower side provided with picots.
