About this work
Footed plate with a turned-up rim. Hollow baluster stem with two discs. Conical bowl with a rounded base. On the bowl the crowned coat of arms of the Amsterdam Hinlopen family: a pelican feeding her young, a hen with chicks, and two turtledoves on a branch. With inscription in a continuous band below the images: DE KLOCKHENS TROVWYCHEYT.DER DVYFKENS TRECKE BECKE.EEN PELLYCAENSCHE HERT CAN ONS TOT DVUCHT OP WECKE. Dated 16 July 1660.
