About this work
Chasuble with embroidery. The chasuble is violin-shaped and made of silk with a woven pattern of quatrefoils containing mythical creatures, plants, and antithetical birds. The multicolored embroidery has a pattern of ivy leaves and, in the center, Christ, adorned with pearls and decorative stars. The chasuble is trimmed with gold braid and lined with yellow mercerized cotton.
