About this work
Children's hat, summer hat, of white cotton with a flat crown and a wide brim, decorated with a cotton flower and a pleated, scalloped ribbon with hanging ends. Model: spacious flat crown consisting of an upright brim and a round center piece, both stitched with narrow edges. The brim has a seam at the front center which is camouflaged by a cotton flower (carnation?). The loose wide brim is stitched to the crown and, for camouflage, decorated with a ruffled ribbon, which lies partially flat on the hat brim. The brim is stitched and ends scalloped. Unlined. Decoration: cotton passementerie along the scallops.
