About this work

Canopy hat of yellow taffeta, decorated with white lace and colored silk 'Blonde'. A low, semi-circular crown worn close to the back of the head, with a gathered strip at the neck, a 'bavolette'. Four hoops in the crown, three in the brim. Two yellow moiré ribbons.
