About this work

Octagonal porcelain plate, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, black and gold. On the flat a representation of Shiba Onko (Sima Guang) next to the water pot in which a child has fallen. A third person stands on the other side of the pot. On the border a band with floral scrolls. Three feet on the underside. A crack in the rim. Arita, decorated in Europe in the Japanese Kakiemon style.
