About this work
Men's vest of yellowed silver lame with an embroidered straw motif of rosebuds in silk, trimmed with a border of red roses embroidered in silk and silver sequins, red metal leaves and silver thread. Remains of gilding. The back panel is of coarse linen, lined with roughened cotton.
