About this work
Lightly vaulted lid with a bulbous knob with air bubbles. Stem built up from double balusters containing respectively a teardrop-shaped air bubble and a multi-spiral. Engraved representation on the cup: surrounded by rococo ornament a dove on a plinth, below a barrel, a well and a hammer. On the reverse side a lake with two sailing ships, a village and a forest. Garlands along the rim of the cup and lid. Signed under the barrel and well: H: v. Gimnig fec.
