Bocal with the Middelweg (the current Middenweg) in Diemen

Faceted, conical foot with a scalloped rim. Faceted, baluster-shaped stem with three knobs. Funnel-shaped bowl with a faceted, rounded base. Vaulted, profiled lid with a pointed knob composed of two faceted knobs. On the bowl, within a cartouche of volutes and scrollwork, a view of the Middelweg (now Middenweg) in Diemen, seen from the intersection of the Ringdijk and the Outewalerbrug. At the intersection, at the start of the road, stands a toll gate with the coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam on the left pillar and an illegible text on the right. Both pillars are topped by a lantern and stand next to a guardhouse. Behind the gate is a rectangular square with the Town Hall on the right and a row of houses on the left. A row of trees stands on both sides of the road. Above the scene, within the cartouche, the text reads: RENATA FLOREAT. On the reverse, a similar cartouche containing a depiction of a lake surrounded by a reed bed. Above this, the text: EX UNDIS.
