Linen damask napkin with personifications of the four continents. Central field: four horizontally placed cartouches surrounded by strapwork, C-scrolls, and leaf ornamentation. Within the cartouches: personification of Asia as a man on a camel, with the inscription "ASIE"; personification of America as a woman with feathers and a bow, sitting on a bale of cotton with her left hand leaning on a barrel, with the inscription "AMERIQUE"; personification of Africa as a man on a lion, with the inscription "AFRIQUE"; personification of Europe as women with attributes of trade, with the inscription "EUROPE". Borders: floral and leafy vines. Corners: cornucopias.
