About this work
Length of silk with a "layered" design of horizontal bands with ovals filled with birds and mammals, against a grid and bands with shifting irregular hexagons filled with leaves and with ovals with abstract ornamental filling over which a "network" of crossing bands, forming irregular lozenges. All in green, gold-yellow, brown, orange, blue and silver against a "waffled" ground of purple and brown. Oriental textile.
