About this work

Band of silk damask with a design of alternating horizontal bands featuring an ornament of a row of hexagons beneath a mammal and cloud pattern and two birds, and another filled with blocks containing two birds overlapped by small blocks with vegetative abstract filling. All in the colors yellow, orange, blue, purple, white-grey and green against a purple ground woven in a grid pattern. Oriental textile.
