Table runner with monogram 'AL' or 'LA'

Table runner with white embroidery on batiste with inserts of needle lace and filet work, edged with inserts and a scalloped border in bobbin lace. On the short sides, twice the monogram 'AL' or 'LA' in needle lace inserts. This indicates that the runner was made on the occasion of the marriage of Anna Leyds-Carstens, or shortly thereafter.
